The Gallery on Chase Hill will sponsor and host the regional "Plein Air Painters Invitational" beginning on Saturday, June 6th. The show will include twenty of the regions most significant plein air painters, displaying both wet paint and studio pieces from each artist. As part of the Arts in the Inns 2009 event, the plein air painters will set up their easels at various locations as they capture the inspirational scenery that our special piece of the Maine coast has to offer. This "Paint Out" will take place from June 3rd – 6th. There will be an opening reception Saturday night from 4-6 pm, where guests will have a chance to meet the artists while they view and consider each artist’s work, including those produced during the "Paint Out."

This event is an extravaganza for the senses that brings fine wines, the cuisine of celebrated chefs and the work of award-winning artists to one central location. Under the Grand Tasting tent, guests will find a marriage of the arts. Consumers will have the opportunity to taste fine wines and an even greater selection of the region’s finest cuisine. In addition to the tasting, the area’s top chefs will demonstrate their skills in the Wolf/Subzero test kitchen, preparing dishes from start to finish. If that’s not enough, each of the festival artists will be on hand to discuss and display their work.
Tremendous restaurants, in tandem with our elite winemakers, means that a visit to the Grand Tasting is equivalent to a world-class lunch.

During the Saturday tour, guests will be offered the chance to view inspirational art in the unique setting of Kennebunkport’s historic Inns. On Sunday, the artists in residence will be present to answer questions about their work.

Norman Rockwell would be proud. Children, parents, lemonade, sugar cookies, crafting, grand prizes - This is small town USA. Please join the children of the Kennebunks as they display their fine sculpture, painting, photography and other artistic creations at the first annual Children’s Festival. Kids ages 5-12 will display their creations at the Nonantum Resort on Ocean Avenue for this one day event. Judges will award prizes for the “winner” of each category, including a grand prize, seating for four on the Pineapple Ketch! This is not your average art opening...there will be fun to be had by all with craft stations, yummy snacks and much much more! We’ll see you there.

Two nationally celebrated chefs, one from Maine, one from "away" will meet on the edge of the Kennebunk River to conceive the ultimate summer feast. Multiple courses will be paired with wine and followed by live music and dancing. Guests will have the unique opportunity to observe and interact with the chefs while they work.
This year's Gala will feature Steve Corry from Portland Maine's 555 who will work with Mark Militello, Executive Chef at 1 Bleu in South Beach Miami. These chefs will each present their own gourmet version of the famed Maine lobster. Chefs Mark and Steve have both been named Best Chef by Food and Wine magazine and have garnered many culinary accolades over the course of their careers.
As guests arrive, they will be treated to a number of delicious canapes and champagne. Dinner will be served surrounding the Wolf and Subzero test kitchen where Chef Mark and Chef Steve will be creating their menus for the evening. Dancing to live music will follow dinner.
